About Ikeda sensei

Mr. Ikeda has been practicing, studying and teaching traditional oriental medicine for over forty five years. His theories and techniques based on traditional acupuncture are widely accepted around the world.

With his years of experience Mr. Ikeda has developed a state of the art needling technique that is truly inspiring.  His overall approach to healing is grounded in profound understanding of classic acupuncture and herbal medicine texts.

His determination to understand classical acupuncture texts has set him apart and created a demand for his lectures even as he developed and maintained his clinic. He graduated from Meiji Oriental Medical Institute in 1968 and has spent his life devoted to the practice of acupuncture, moxibustion, and herbal medicine.

As an instructor and the president of the academic department of the Society of Traditional Japanese Medicine he has became a prolific writer, he has published over 25 books, including The Handbook Series and the Simplified Commentaries on the Classics of Oriental Medicine.  His books, The Practice of Japanese Acupuncture and Moxibustion: Classic Principles in Action and Integration of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine: Theory and Practice, have been translated into English.  His many books have influenced the field of Japanese acupuncture and his theories and techniques are widely accepted.  He has taught Traditional Japanese Acupuncture in Japan, Australia and the United States.
